This is a combination track of two songs: The first is a reminder of those who have been persecuted over the centuries & their example for us if we should suffer persecution for righteousness' sake; the second song is one expressing the joy of faithful saints who enter into glory, rejoicing in their Savior & their eternal reward!

Blessed Are the Persecuted

So great a cloud of witnesses surround us,
Saints who’ve gone on before us,
Of whom the world is not worthy!*
And all were faithful unto death,
For the sake of righteousness.

Some were beaten, some were stoned,
Cast into prison to suffer alone;
Some were tortured, sawn in two,
Persecuted, destitute,
But THIS THEY KNEW:

That the hammer of hell cannot break the
Chain that binds us to Christ!
And distress cannot sever the bond!
And the fires of persecution cannot burn the link!
For He Who called you at first,
Will call you again to Heaven from earth!**

Neither life nor death nor angels,
Nor all the powers that be,
Nor height nor depth nor demons
Nor any created things that be,
Can ever separate us from the love of God
In Christ!***
For all who share in His sufferings

Take heart, you faithful saints!
Rejoice in this your persecution!
For righteous words & deeds,
You suffer unjust accusations;
Rejoice, and be glad!
For so the prophets long before you,
Were persecuted for their faith,
And you have joined their holy number!

Yours is the Kingdom..
