Consider God’s Critters –capo 0-D – Gen. 1:20-31, Job 39 1) Consider God’s critters and all that they teach us – Eagles & horses and pigs, ants, and leeches – The deer and the dog & the donkey you see- They all have a lesson to teach you & me! Consider the leopard, the lamb and the lion, Foxes and ostrich, the bear & leviathan, Cattle & coney & grasshopper, too— They all have a lesson to teach me & you! Chorus #1: In the beginning, God created All of the animals, the fish in the sea, the birds of the air, And ev-e-ry creature that creeps ev’ry where, And God saw----that it was GOOD! 2) Consider the intricate organs & systems, Of human & animals’ complex existence! We came in to being by God’s wise design-- Not some random BIG BANG and slime over time!! Chorus # 2: God told Adam, “Have dominion Over the animals, the fish in the sea, The birds of the air, And ev-e-ry creature that creeps ev’ry where!” And God saw----that it was GOOD! Tag: “God made all things of nothing, by the word of His power, in the space of six days, and all----VERY GOOD!!”** ©Judy Rogers 6/10/11 ** (from The Shorter Catechism, q. 9)

Barney is a Hog – 2 Peter 2:22 1) Barney is a Hog so strong & proud, He roots in his trough, and he grunts real loud; He wallows in the mud and he rolls in the straw, But he doesn’t need a bath ‘cause Barney is a Hog! 2) Now, Billy is a boy who lives on a farm, He digs for worms and fishes in the pond, He jumps in the mud & rolls in the hay, And Billy needs a bath most every day! Chorus: So listen to me, country boys, city boys, too, And every boy in between, You were made in the image of God, Not like a rabbit or a ferret or a frog, So wash your hands, brush your teeth, Keep yourself clean!! 3) Now, Billy comes home for supper every night, He’s worked up a farm boy appetite, But his mama shakes her head and says with a laugh, “You’re smellin’ like Barney, boy, take a bath!!” Chorus # 2: So listen to me, country boys, city boys, too, And every boy in between, You were made in the image of God, Not like a pony or a parrot or a dog, So wash your hands, brush your teeth, Keep yourself clean!! Balaam’s Donkey - capo 5-G – Numbers 22-24 You ‘d never guess if you did not know about a prophet named Balaam so long ago He traveled here & he traveled there and his faithful little donkey took him everywhere. Now, Balak, King of the Moabites, Told Balaam, “Go & curse the Is’relites! You know that I am a wealthy king, And I will reward you if you do this thing!!” But he said, “There’s a problem with your request-- God told me not to curse but only to bless!” And though he spoke every word of God as he was told, he coveted the King’s silver & gold! And as they journeyed along their path, the Angel of the Lord appeared in wrath!! The donkey saw the angel’s sword & turned aside— three times! But Balaam beat her every time! Then the Lord caused the donkey to speak! “What have I done that you should do this to me? --Have I not carried you for oh, so long, and to treat me unkindly is oh, so wrong!” Chorus: Sometimes others see what we refuse to see, We go on stubbornly down our selfish road; It takes humility-- if we would clearly see the path that God wants us to walk, Before a donkey has to TALK!!! Then Balaam’s eyes were opened To see the Angel of the Lord Who stood in his path full of righteous wrath, And he was ready to wield his sword! He said, “Why did you strike your donkey 3 times? She was only trying to save your life!! I came to kill you for your evil ways, But you can thank your donkey you’re alive today!” Chorus: Sometimes others see….. (Repeat chorus, substitute “you” for “we” ) Before a donkey has to talk! ©Judy Rogers 2012

The Heavens Declare!! capo 0Em - Based on Psalm 19:1-6 The heavens declare the glory of God; The skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they utter their speech; And night reveals their knowledge. There is no speech or language, Where their voice is not heard; Their words go out into all the earth, Their voice to the ends of the world. Bridge: See the sunrise, like a bridegroom, Coming out of his chamber, Like a champion who rejoices to run his race! See the stars shine in the night sky, And the moonlight to guide us; Oh, let us join the heavenly hosts In praise to our Creator!!! Oh, All his works in His dominion, Praise the Lord, O my soul!! “This is my Father’s world, And to my listening ears, All nature sings & round me rings, The music of the spheres!” Bridge: See the stars shine in the night sky, And the moonlight to guide us; Oh, let us join the heavenly hosts In praise to our Creator!!! Oh, all His works in His dominion, Praise the Lord, O my soul!! Repeat 1st two lines of song @Judy Rogers 1/25/12

The Ant Down Under!! Capo 2-Em - Proverbs 6:6, 30:25 Have you ever wondered, in the land down under Your house If a mouse, or a mole in its hole Can work hard as the Ant? It CAN’T!!! Have you ever pondered, in the land up yonder, Why some children play, every minute of the day But when it’s time to work…, Refrain: They SHIRK responsibility, Complain & fuss incessantly, They grumble and procrastinate, And cry, “I’ve got a tummy ache!” It doesn’t take a doctor or psychiatry degree To diagnose the problem: ----They need a dose of ANT THEOLOGY!!! Ants: “We can hoist a host of hornets We can fetch a feast of flies, Grab a gangly green grasshopper (if he’s dead & dried!) We don’t even have a captain Telling us what we should do! If you follow our example, You will be responsible, too!” Spoken: “And, by the way” When we’re in the land down under We can hear such rumbling; Then we wonder, is it thunder? Or is it child-ren grumbling?!! Have you ever pondered, in the land up yonder, Why some children play, every minute of the day, But when it’s time to work… They SHIRK responsibility, Complain & fuss incessantly, They grumble and procrastinate, And cry, “I’ve got a tummy ache!” And when they say I CAN’T— “I can’t!” They need a lesson from the Ant!! They need a lesson from the Ant!! Judy Rogers©2006-2014

The Sluggard – capo 3G – Proverbs 6:6, 9, 22:13-14, 26:13 1) The sluggard is just like the slug— And if you ask why, he will shrug – But we know it’s true for it always appears It takes him forever to get there from here! 2) Yes, the sluggard is so like the slug— Melodramatic & smug – He’ll say, “I can’t help it! I really am tired – And by the way, yesterday, was such an awful day, I got to work too late and --- I was FIRED!! Chorus: Sluggards do EVERYTHING -- if they do ANYTHING-- Very lazily, quite lackadaisically!! They make excuses for all they can’t do- Blame it on this or that –blame it on me and on YOU!! Bridge: “Just let me sleep,” is the song of the sluggard! “I’ll be snug as a bug in a rug! Let me sleep…zzzz” So he turns on his bed and believes his own lie, “There’s a lion in the street so I can’t go outside!” But when it comes harvest time he can’t believe That his garden is covered & smothered with weeds! 2) Yes, the sluggard is so like the slug— Melodramatic & smug – He’ll say, “I can’t help it! I really am tired – And by the way, yesterday, was such an AWFUL day, I got to work too late and --- I was FIRED!! (Repeat Chorus & Bridge ) Judy Rogers©2006-2014

Can you imagine the sight Noah saw?! They jumped & they waddled, They slithered and crawled! Some flew through the air And some galloped on land They came to the Ark, And like Noah, obeyed God’s command! Chorus: By faith, Noah listened, By faith he obeyed! Blameless & God-fearing all of his days; What about me? What about you? Even the animals obeyed their Creator two by two! 3) Where can we run from this flood of our sin?
